One inspiration.
Two faces of time.

Look closely at the clock above the town, then at the dial on the wrist. Tissot names Le Locle’s church clock as a direct inspiration for the collection’s design.[1]

Architecture, interpreted for the wrist.

The circular clock face above Le Locle is a starting point for the collection’s story. Tissot identifies the town’s church clock as its inspiration, reinterpreted at the intimate scale of a wristwatch.

Le Locle’s church clock is the documented starting point of this design story.

A small town.
A lasting legacy.

In the Swiss Jura mountains, Le Locle is a town where watchmaking has shaped everyday life.

The Tissot family opened its workshop here in 1853. A century and a half later, when the brand chose to honour its beginnings, the name of the collection was a natural choice: Le Locle.

A family workshop. A global story.

The Tissot family began its work in Le Locle in 1853. Long before it appeared on a watch dial, the name belonged to a real place with a watchmaking tradition.

The Le Locle Powermatic 80 pairs a distinctive classical dial with an automatic movement. Your wrist’s motion winds the watch, while its power reserve keeps it running when you take it off.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Is the connection to the church tower real?

Yes. In its official articles about Le Locle, Tissot explicitly identifies the town’s church clock as an inspiration for the collection’s design. We share that story here, with sources at the foot of the page.

Was the collection launched in 1853?

Tissot was founded in Le Locle in 1853. The Le Locle collection was introduced in 2003 to mark the brand’s 150th anniversary. They are two distinct milestones in the same story.

How does an automatic movement work?

Wrist movement turns a rotor, which winds the mainspring that stores energy to power the watch. The Powermatic 80 has a stated power reserve of up to 80 hours when fully wound. Follow the instructions for your specific reference.

Are all Le Locle models the same?

The collection includes different sizes, colours, movements and materials. The specifications illustrated on this page apply to T006.407.11.053.00. Before buying, check the reference and specifications on your chosen product page.
